CGIAR Science Week at the UN Headquarters in Nairobi. Organized by KALRO and CGIAR,

Farmers Solidarity for Agricultural and Social Development (SOPADAS) is thrilled to share its participation in the CGIAR Science Week, held from April 7 to April 12, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.

CGIAR and the Kenyan Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) hosted the inaugural CGIAR Science Week, a pivotal event that shaped the research agenda, fostered strategic partnerships, and showcased the 2025–2030 Research Portfolio.

We warmly invited everyone to follow the discussions and insights that emerged during the week of collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Our representative and the secretary of the Tanzania branch, Brother B.A. David, proudly represented SOPADAS at this esteemed gathering of global scientific minds, contributing to the collective efforts aimed at fostering sustainable agricultural development and improving social welfare.

The CGIAR Science Week took over five days of sessions and three days of field visits. exploring groundbreaking science, fostered critical dialogue, and strengthened global collaboration across food, land, and water systems.

From transformative plenaries and high-level strategy dialogues to hands-on innovation showcases and side events, the week highlighted the collective power of science to drive meaningful impact.
We were inspired by the shared commitment to harness science for a food-secure, equitable, and climate-resilient future.

Bawili A. Daudi, a distinguished African representative from Tanzania, holds the position of branch secretary for the Farmers Solidarity for Agricultural and Social Development (SOPADAS). His unwavering dedication to enhancing both agricultural and social development has garnered him immense respect within his community and beyond. Recently, he had the esteemed opportunity to engage with participants from diverse countries, including Italy, Mexico, Egypt, Kenya, Botswana, Swaziland, Cameroon, and Madagascar, during the CGIAR Science Week. This event not only highlighted pressing agricultural issues but also symbolized international collaboration, emphasizing a shared mission to promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through his efforts and participation in such gatherings, Bawili continues to advocate for impactful changes that benefit farmers and foster community resilience across the globe.
